Elena’s week 17 of training

A sense of achievement!!!! I DID IT!!! πŸ’ͺ
After almost 4 months of training I finally managed to run Half Marathon distance (21.0975 km) under 2 hours. This was my dream for a long time and I finally did it. 21.0975 km in 1:56:28.
Thank you to my coach Remigijus Kančys who is the best in this field and is such a great inspiration every time I get to talk to him. He always finds best words to support and if there is any doubt in myself he turns it into my strength. So thank you!!! Looking forward for another 3 months of running ahead of us πŸ˜‰
I have also experienced something very new – VO2 max testing. It is the maximum rate of oxygen consumption measured during exercise of increasing intensity. Thank you Lietuvos sporto universitetas for an opportunity πŸ‘
This was absolutely mental as I not only had to run (which is not new) but I had to run very fast (completely out of my comfort zone). The intensity level was increased every 60seconds by 100m. How long and how fast can you go? I did total 22minutes and reached 14km/h speed πŸ˜ƒ if I ever see 10km/h speed limit I have to slow down πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I failed this exercise because did not understand breathing instructions clearly and at 13.5km/h I started lacking oxygen. I should have concentrated on my breathing better but… this is how you learn I guess. Will repeat the test again so hope for better results next week πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜ƒ
Thank you all for your support and dont forget to run/walk on the 1st of August for #TodayIRunMS charity run.
