Elena’s week 19 of training

Week 19 done and dusted πŸ™‚
I had a great time to recover last week with slightly easier and shorter runs. Phew πŸ˜₯
Thats why I had more time to focus on my strength training which is another essential element to a runner’s training plan. Improvements dont just come from pounding the pavements, runners need to work on all fitness elements.
Strength workouts can:
πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈPrevent injuries by strengthening muscles and connective tissues;
πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ Improve running economy, that is how efficiently you run;
πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈIncrease the power generated from muscles that helps you run faster.
If you want to perform at your full potential, you need to take a comprehensive approach to running. There is no right or wrong way to add strength training to your schedule but keep consistency in mind. πŸ’ͺπŸ˜³πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
